Proposal: Easy Parole

Self-killed. Failed by Kevan.

In the rule “Release”, replace
“If all Prisoners who are not Injured have a SHIV score of 99, and exactly one of those Prisoners is a Fish, then that Fish may Declare Victory.”
with

If there is exactly one Prisoner who is a Fish, and that Prisoner has a SHIV score of 99 and is not Injured, then that Prisoner may Declare Victory.

Given the rate at which you can gain SHIV, and the fact that people will probably not cooperate with a Fish who has high SHIV, I don’t think the week or less between people getting injured and their ability to change attitude is enough time for someone to win.

As I read the ruleset, there is currently no way for a Prisoner to stop being Injured - the weekly Attitude change is “provided that their Attitude is not currently Injured”.

This rule change would allow one player with a low Sentence and an infinite SHIV scam to win irrespective of what anyone else might be up to at that point. Maybe that would be an impressive enough trick, but I’m not sure it’s worth playing out.

That’s the problem with joining mid-round, you miss important bits of the ruleset.

Before resolving this thread, can comeone tell me how to set my account so that I receive an email notification at the end and/or start of a dynasty? Thanks.

It’s in the FAQ. The account setting that claims to do this has never worked, we should really find out how to get rid of that.

Or maybe find a way to make it work instead of getting rid of it? It would help me as if I want to join a round, it would have to be at the beginning because otherwise I feel like I don’t know what’s going on.

I’ve no idea where it came from, or if “send emails to a bunch of users when post of type X is made” is even possible in ExpressionEngine. I get the feeling it was somebody optimistically adding the text for a setting in the early days, without knowing how to make it do anything.

Subscribing to the Yahoo mailing list should be functionally identical, so long as I remember to post the alert each dynasty.
