Upon enactment of this CfJ, any pending DoV that is Unpopular may be immediately failed.

because this makes failing the DoVs optional on an individual basis. Either fail them, or don’t fail them.
why not just fix the rules so unpopular DoVs don’t need 12 hours to fail?
trying to remember why we included that. I’m sure after all this time we have our reasons, right?
@clucky I tend towards the belief that a CfJ shouldn’t change rules unless it’s necessary to get out of a hole; we should save the rule change for after the hiatus.
[Clucky] I think the 12 hour thing is to discourage speculative DoVs that get retracted five minutes later. If they were cheap and easily taken down, it would be tempting to always throw them out just in case, whenever you half-saw a possible scam, if you weren’t expecting to win any other way over the next four days.
Bucky:
Is this supposed to amend the rules? CfJs can’t otherwise permit an illegal future action, as that goes beyond changing the gamestate.
Or maybe you just meant “fail all pending Unpopular DoVs”.
