Proposal: Final Casting Call

Create a new Subrule of Rule 2.2.1 Stunt Casting, Rule 2.2.1.1 with title “Final Casting Call” and the following text:

Scripters may Cast an actor or actress to play one of the following characters throughout the film: Man, Stewart (The Hero), Tall Girl, Oliver, Cockroach, Bo. To do this, a Scripter must make a story post entitled “Casting for [X],” with “[X]” being replaced with the name of the character to be played. This story post is known as a Casting Call. The body of the story post must clearly identify one actor or actress to play the role of the character.

If 2 Scripters (not including the one who created the Casting Call) comment “Seconded” on a Casting Call, then the Scripter who created the Casting Call earns 5 Royalties. The actor or actress who was suggested in the Casting Call is said to have been Cast. At that point, any other Casting Calls for the same character become closed. A comment of “Seconded” does nothing for a closed Casting Call. A Casting Call that is not closed is said to be open. No Scripter may create a Casting Call if he has already created a Casting Call which is still open. No Scripter may create a Casting Call for a character who appears in the wiki document “Final Cast.”

Create a wiki document entitled “Final Cast,” or blank it if it already exists. Whenever an actor or actress is Cast, put the name of the actor or actress in the wiki document along with the name of the character they were Cast to play. This wiki document may not be altered except by Rule or Proposal.

Just a fun side game to mix up the Royalties situation.

It’s actually pretty simple. No one can get more than 5 Royalties from this, because a Casting Call that succeeds is perpetually open. I’ll post an example to show you how it works.

Any group of three accomplices can grab 5 Royalties each, as soon as this passes, by making a casting call and having the other two second it. Not much fun. And not great for our film’s future, if the lead role can be miscast so easily.

Then you should get two accomplices. And you shouldn’t cast the roles poorly. Would you prefer that it have to be 4 or 5 accomplices?

As I say, “see which group of three accomplices can be online when this proposal passes” is not much fun, as games go. Even less fun when the proposer is someone who lives in the same house as another BlogNomic player.

against Sidegames can be fun, but should generally require more skill than this one.

W/e, but we still need to cast our main characters somehow. It’s stupid to just cast the minor roles.

Sorry, I forgot how sensible this process of film development is, Qwaz. It’s ridiculous our casting isn’t in order.

Or maybe I meant to say, ‘don’t call the game stupid please’.
