Proposal: Financial Independence

Fails 5-1—Clucky

Adminned at 18 Nov 2023 01:17:34 UTC

In the rule “Spells”, create a new subrule named “Invest” with the following body:

Inputs: A non-negative integer that does not the exceed the Stars of the Wizard selecting to cast this Spell

Cost: The integer specified in the Inputs for this specific casting of this Spell

Effect: At the end of the televised period of the Duel whose Duel Number is 3 higher than the Duel this specific casting of the Spell was made in, the Wizard casting this spell gains 1.5 times the amount of Stars specified in the Inputs.

Traits: Selfish

might add some amount of strategy, dunno

Way too easy to get the 0 star achievement with this

You could change the limit to read “does not exceed half of the Stars”

That could still give people with 40 stars a ten star move which doesn’t really mesh with the “get 8 stars in a duel” achievement I proposed

Actually it’s at the end of the televised period. So don’t think that breaks. But ten stars from one move is still really strong

So would a % of the total Stars be a better way to limit this, like 25% of the Wizard’s total, or a fixed limit like “no more than 10 Stars”?

I could also be convinced that this idea is just inherently broken.

limit to 10 stars and I might be tempted to do a def instead of a red tick. Puts it in line with some of the power “gain 5 stars” moves. But ultimately I think “wait a few days” is less interesting than “hope no one changes style to mess up your uniqueness” or “hope no one else presses the greed button”

I do applaud the try but definitely need to be sneakier next time 😅
