Add a new subrule to the rule Levels of Reality, called Memes:

Each Mindjacker has a publicly tracked number of Memes, which are strings of text; by default they have none. A Meme represents an understanding or affinity with the essential nature of a specific Tier; as an Existential Action, a Mindjacker with a Meme that is associated with a specific Tier may Ascend to that Tier, as if they met the Ascension Criteria of every intervening Tier.

Add the following to the rule Tier 2: Post Singularity Consciousness:

The Meme for this Tier is “introspection”. As a daily action, any Mindjacker without the Meme for this Tier may acquire it.

Add the following to the rule Tier 3: Psychic Dreamscape:

The Meme for this Tier is “hypnagogia”. As a daily action, any Mindjacker without the Meme for this Tier may acquire it; if they do then they may, if they wish, remove this sentence from the ruleset.

Add the following to the rule Tier 4: Protoplasmic Quantum Soup:

The Meme for this Tier is “eukaryotic”. As a daily action, any Mindjacker without the Meme for this Tier may acquire it; if they do then they must remove this sentence from the ruleset.
