Proposal: Food Is Supposed to Get Eaten, I Think

Fewer than a quorum not voting AGAINST. Failed 2-3 by Kevan.

Adminned at 09 Aug 2023 14:38:56 UTC

Append the following step to the Posing a Dilemma atomic action:

* If this Dilemma’s number is a multiple of 7, reduce the Food of each District by that District’s People divided by 50 (rounded up); if this would reduce a District’s Food below 0, instead reduce their Food until it reaches 0 and then reduce their People by 10 for each excess point of Food reduction.

In the Gathering atomic action, replace “Gain n * 0.1 Food” with “Gain n * 0.2 Food”

Add the following Innovation to the list of Innovations:

| Technological || Indoor Gardens || 2 || None || Every time you React to a Dilemma whose number is a multiple of 10, gain 1 Food.

it feels a bit odd to me if our food doesn’t naturally go down over time, regardless of the choices we make!

If you can’t reduce food then the impact should come to order instead.

Actually maybe that’s a separate proposal.

good idea, but yeah, i think that ought to be another proposal! for now i’ll edit in a clause saying that only Districts that aren’t Starving or Abandoned get affected, so this doesn’t gum up the works in the future :0

Food consumption should be proportional to population.

Seconding what Bucky said. I’ll probably still vote in favor, but you have time to change it if you’re still awake.

I’m not happy about the food consumption doubling breakpoint going in between you and me. Unhappy enough to vote against? Maybe.  against for now.

against definitely seems too overkill for the amount of food production we have right now. if you have over 50 people, pretty much the only way to get more food than you’re losing is gathering, which is dependent on RNG

@lendunistus: maybe that’s appropriate, though. This is a Dead City, where resources are scarce. It’s hard-mode survival.
