Add a new rule, “No lies”:

No Voter may make any false statements either on the blog or on the IRC channel #nomic on the network irc.slashnet.org.

In second thought this is a good idea

Beware of coercive logic, etc. Agora’s had this rule for quite a while, and it’s needed several changes in order to prevent people deliberately creating muddled gamestate with it, or trying to create paradoxes, etc. BlogNomic’s culture is different, but I still worry it would lead to a mass of CFJs along the lines of “he was lying” “no I wasn’t, I was mistaken” ...

The lie is essential to any sort of politicking.

What is BlogNomic?

BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.

The game has been running since 2003 and resets every month or so. Have a look around the wiki for more information and history. New players are always welcome and can join in the game at any time.
