Proposal: FriendSSSSSSSSSSSS plural

1-4. Times out.—Chronos

Adminned at 15 Feb 2007 09:56:17 UTC

Add a new rule, “Friends”;

All Actors have a Friends-List, which is stored in a wiki page called “Friends”. The Friends-List is a list of the Friends that actor has. Often an Actor may either;
a) Add a new Friend to eir list,
OR
b) Remove a friend from eir list.

Each Actor cannot have more than 5 friends on eir list.
An Actor may only be the Friend of at most 5 other Actors.
An Actor may only add another Actor as a Friend to eir list if they;
a) Currently has the same location as the Actor,
And,
b) E has equal or less fame than the Actor.

An Actor may only remove a Friend from eir list if either;
a) E has a different location as the Friend,
Or
b) E has more fame than the Friend.

When this passes create a new page on the wiki called “Friends” with sub headdings for each Actor.

Actors cannot be considered to be friends with a lesser Actor. Friendship can be either 1-way or 2-way.

Wait a second…how can you add a less famous Actor as a Friend, but cannot be considered a Friend of a less famous Actor?

Snow, never mind, that part is not rule text…

Snow’s point is valid. That may not be explicitly stated, but that seems to be the effect of the proposal…

There is no such thing as an implicit effect. Either it is on the ruleset or it is not.

What this rule does is: If an Actor is in the same location as another Actor and has less fame than that Actor, e can add that Actor. If an Actor is NOT in the same location as another Actor and has more fame than that Actor, e can remove that Actor.

It is not a 2 ways thing. Only you can edit your own list. You cannot remove yourself from another Actor’s list. That is why I’m voting against it.

Actually…this could make for a neat “Prisoner’s dellima” situation, in which if you friend someone, THEY gain a benefit, but if you are mutual friends with someone, you both gain benefits, larger than that of a single-way friendship.
