Not giving an accused person time to defend themselves and change people’s mind on the vote feels incredibly risky to me

Thinking about it there’s a wider timing issue here in that any unrelated player who sleeps through a successful Accusation could find the game moving to a Break-In before they have time to adapt their Route (or tip somebody off) in light of its outcome.

So it becomes safer for Burglars to wait to see if any Accusations are made, before submitting their Route. So the game slows down. (I get the feeling that all “add a side mechanic to give us something to do while waiting for a player to do something” mechanics come down to this, that the players we’re waiting for will just end up waiting longer to see how the side mechanic resolves.)
