Proposal: #CheeseGotAura

Part 1. Multiply the Trendiness values for each ingredient by 5, then increase them by 50.

Part 2. In the sub-rule Hot Topic:
- change 5 to 100.
- Add “(Today Only:)” before the last sentence.
- Add “(From Tomorrow:) As a Shutdown Action, a Closed Truck may increase or decrease any one Ingredient’s Trendiness by up to 20.” to the end of that sub-rule.

Part 3. Change the Review Trends bullet point in the rule The Night to read:

Review trends: Reduce the current Trending Ingredient’s Trendiness by the number of dishes that did not include that ingredient prior to the start of this Night action. Increase each Ingredient’s (except the Trending Ingredient) Trendiness by the number of dishes that included that ingredient prior to the start of this Night action. Set the Trending Ingredient to be the ingredient with the most Trendiness.

Trying to make Trending ingredients more fluid. This proposal helps incentivize people to target popular ingredients and menus which are selected to be trending more often rather than the random selection method previously.
Part 1 inflates trendiness values so they can process more numbers.
Part 2 changes the default to 100 and then edits the action with which you can change trendiness values, from 2 to 20, and then allows you to decrease ingredient trendiness if you want to.
Part 3 changes how trends are changed.

Now THAT is ambitious.

I like the idea, but I think Trendiness should go down the more Dishes that use that ingredient. Kinda like the idea that once something becomes too popular, it’s old news, and the foodies move on to something nobody is doing yet. Which means the ingredients least used or not used at all should go up.

What do you think?

Interesting. I was worried that the force pushing the trending ingredient down wasn’t strong enough, considering the benefits to contesting it. Checking last night, there were 26 dishes without Sauce (which was trending) and 30 with.
I’ve just realized now that this removes the tiebreaker for choosing Trending Ingredients, so they default to Beef whenever two ingredients have the same Trendiness.

Yeah, I think this needs more thought.

against but not in a harsh way, just saying to take it back to the drawing board and come back with something similar.
