Proposal: Additions to the Core Rules

Fails 0-8 (self-killed) - Bucky

I prepose to append the following section to the rule “Ruleset and Gamestate”

If a Call for Judgement is passed (having do do with the subject of this section),a Scribe that is an Admin is allowed to reverse illegal edits, and return the Ruleset and Gamestate to their previous state. Scribes(including admins and the Editor) are NEVER allowed to make other edits without a proposal being passed.

Unless a majority of the CoVs on this proposal contain “non platonic”, I also propose that this should be added to the same rule.

The current Editor should keep a platonic, written or digitally recorded Ruleset. This will serve as an “Ultimate Copy” of the Ruleset that outrules all the others, and can resolve disputes about the content of the Ruleset.

The first clause is entirely redundant; Calls for Judgement allow the gamestate to be corrected indisputably; it’s only a matter of whether such corrections can be made without one that potentially needs addressal.

Also, the second doesn’t require that their ruleset be a copy of the, well, Ruleset, nor provide for it to be. It also debatably jeopardizes legal changes to the ruleset made while the Editor wasn’t present, and could potentially allow the Editor to change the actual Ruleset to any arbitrary text. (And it’s broken by Metadynasties, which lack Editors entirely, but it is only a ‘should’).

As a message for Sci_Guy12 and the others, I hope you understand it is normal that we, as new users, will propose many rules which make no sense at all when seen from an experienced player’s perspective.

against I agree with the idea of a platonic ruleset but it would probably be done better by including something along the lines of what we have for the GNDT.  I will look into proposing that when I’m at home and not on mobile. Also, we can look at edit history so we can always tell what the ruleset should be.

“Scribes are NEVER allowed to make other edits without a proposal being passed.” would disable the main dynastic mechanic.
