Proposal: Hitting Rock Bottom

Reached quorum, 3-0. Enacted by JonathanDark.

If the Proposal “A slow descent into madness” was not enacted, this Proposal has no effect.

In the rule “Diving for Treasure” add the following text:

A Fishing Contestant’s Depth has a maximum value according to the Landmark of the Cell containing that Fishing Contestant’s name:
* Shore: Maximum Depth is 0
* Ocean: Maximum Depth is 100
* All other Cells: Maximum Depth is 10

A Fishing Contestant’s name may not be moved to a new Cell if the maximum Depth for that Cell is less than that Fishing Contestant’s current Depth.

It doesn’t make sense to be able to dive on the Shore, and it makes sense to be able to dive deeper in the Ocean, so we should have maximum Depths depending on the Cell.

for Though going down to depth 10 and then back up will take about 20 days; we might want a mechanism for faster ascent/descent, or maybe a checkpoint system of some kind.

Since “Diving for Treasure” is already gated by the most recent “Sight Disturbances”, and also since there’s no immediate consequences for changing your Depth in the first place, maybe changing your Depth shouldn’t be a Daily action at all?

On the other hand, we don’t want to make it completely free, so how about letting people increase or decrease their Depth to whatever they want, but they can’t subsequently change their Depth again or perform “Diving for Treasure” until a number of hours equal to the difference between their old Depth and new Depth? Basically costing them 1 hour per integer change in Depth over time before doing the next Depth-related thing.
