This still doesn’t limit the distance of Leapsnail if you simply wait 24 hours, because a Snail that is at the Finish Line 100+ cm from you now was sometime in the past 24 hours within 20cm of you and thus an eligible target.

As I mentioned before, this devolves into everyone playing “just wait for some other sucker to Move to the Finish Line first”. Not very exciting.

Mm, increasingly of the opinion that the 24hr part of leapsnail is just more trouble than it’s worth.

That said, if someone wants to re-propose this with the 20cm limit properly applying to the *current* position of the target relative to the player, I’d be happy to agree to it.

I might just agree with you there, I thought it’d be a clever idea when I proposed it but it’s just a headache to keep track of. Surely there are other better ways to accomplish its stated goal of reducing the “first to react” bias.
