Proposal: Hostile Lifeforms

In the rule “The Laboratory”, in “The map of the Laboratory”, add a Room called Medlab positioned south of the Personnel Airlock and Connected via a Door to the Hallway.

In the rule “Organisms” add a subrule named “Injuries” with the following text:

Each Genetic Engineer has a publicly tracked Status which defaults to Healthy and may be one of the following: Healthy, Injured. When a Genetic Engineer’s Status is Injured, they may not take any dynastic actions other than changing their Position to another Room.

Whenever a Genetic Engineer or the Head Researcher performs a dynastic action that moves a Genetic Engineer or an Organism to a Room, and after that dynastic action is performed, that Room now contains at least 1 Genetic Engineer and at least 1 Organism, they must perform the Attack action, which is an atomic action with the following steps:
* Calculate the Threat, which is an integer which may be negative and which is the number of Organisms in that Room minus the number of Genetic Engineers in that Room.
* If the Threat is 0 or negative, skip the remaining steps and consider this action completed.
* Roll DICE5. If the result is less than or equal to the Threat, set the Status of all Genetic Engineers in that Room to Injured.

In the rule “Synthesis”, add the following as the last step in the atomic action Synthesize:

* For each Genetic Engineer with a Status of Injured who is in the Medlab, set their Status to Healthy.

It’s a dangerous job dealing with alien lifeforms.
