Add a subrule to “Household Unit” entitled “Passage” as follows:
If the game is in Interregnum, the Drone may not Pass the Mantle to a Citizen unless that Citizen’s Floor is the same as the last Floor the Drone had (at the moment just before they became Drone).
I like the idea of the mantle as something that must be physically handed off.
I think rules that limit who you can pass the mantle to are generally good, but no one should be forced to run a dynasty there should always be an option to hand the mantle off and this potentially removes that option
If whoever wins doesn’t want to be the emperor, would that trigger a metadynasty?
CoV per Clucky: it’s also a problem if someone wins while alone on a Floor, but doesn’t want or have time to run the next dynasty. It should be something more like “can only pass the Mantle to the vertically nearest player, and if they decline, the next-nearest player, and so on”.
Also with the general weird keenness to keep “the mantle can be passed to the Emperor” in the ruleset right now, I’d like an option for the mantle to be passed to me if I deserve it. My DMs are open.
