Ah, nuts. I just reviewed the “pending” text under the subrules for “Rule Amendments”, and this text substitution isn’t going to work. By the time this edit is attempted, “Snails Never Forget” will make an edit first, and then the rule will read:

A Snail in the Bucket or on the Bench does not count as a Snail for the purposes of dynastic rules other than this one (except where those rules refer specifically to Snails who are in the Bucket or on the Bench, or for the tracking of their gamestate variables).

and even if we generously “correct” punctuation to make the edit match, the resulting edit from this Proposal would be:

A non-Slug Snail in the Bucket or on the Bench is an Observer. Observers are not considered to be Snails for the purposes of dynastic rules other than this one, or for the tracking of their gamestate variables

which then causes Observers to have orphaned gamestate, resetting that gamestate when they are no longer Observers, which might be impossible if they don’t have tracking of their gamestate and thus can never move to the Bench.

Withdrawn.

No worries. These pending rule edits make things a little more messy than usual.
