@Jason I’m not guaranteeing that nothing will break but we’ve had emperor’s abdicate, go idle, or get replaced a few times before without any issues; certainly none that are bigger than an unwilling emperor.

Running a dynasty is part of the responsibility that comes with achieving victory in the previous dynasty. You can still play, you just can’t achieve victory which is a good way to help ensure more people get a turn.
