First player to get a Masterpiece becomes a Genius; second player needs two Masterpieces, third needs three, etc. This seems like too big an advantage to the early Masterpiece makers.

And saying that an Artist is “declared” a Genius suggests that it’s permanent; there’s no clear mechanic for ceasing to be a Genius.

Per Kevan, plus I don’t especially like how early this is likely to make a win. It would be good to have some deep, interesting mechanics before we start handing out wins on the basis of Acclaim and Masterpieces (both currently a bit random).

Also, offtopic (because I can’t comment on an invalidated proposal post): I don’t much approve of your intended modification to Movements. The motivation for creating and joining Movements is supposed to be to take advantage of the special rules which pertain to them. If you want to support that rule (hurrah!) then do so by making Proposals which interact with specific Movements.

Was just a thought regarding movements. I thought it might be nice to get acclaim because your art was like other people’s.
