Proposal: I have here in my hand a list of Commies

Procedurally Vetoed. - lilomar

Adminned at 28 Jul 2010 13:13:33 UTC

Add a new dynastic rule (which shall be an Infrared rule, if Proposal: What is your name, Citizen? passes), with text as follows:

Following the enactment of this Proposal, the High-Programmer shall select certain Citizens (excluding himself) to become Commies (each of whom may be referred to as a Commie).
When a new Citizen joins the game, or when an idle Citizen who has not previously participated in this Dynasty reactivates, the High-Programmer may (within 48 hours) determine whether this Citizen is a Commie. The High-Programmer may use any methodology that he deems appropriate to determine whether a given Citizen is to become a Commie in accordance with the previous two sentences.  Should idling ever cause the active Citizen list to lack any Commies at all, the High-Programmer may determine that certain then active Citizens become Commies.  Whenever the High-Programmer determines that a Citizen is a Commie, the High-Programmer shall alert that Citizen via PM but shall not alert that Citizen of the identity of any other Commie.
The first time that the High-Programmer determines that certain Citizens are Commies, the High-Programmer shall, following the PM alerts to the relevant Citizens, post a Story Post to the Blog indicating that there are Commies among us.

Well, sounds like werewolf. There has been a werewolf dynasty at the beginning of this year and it was not *that* successful. Though, generally, it could be fun: for

for If we go down the Paranoia route of multiple secret factions (maybe each faction gets its own victory condition), this could be sufficiently distinct from Werewolf.

against but only because it requires that the Commies actually exist. The dynasty would work a lot better if we could hear the Computer tell us to find the Commies, and there was a chance they weren’t there.

against Per ais523, and how can commies be chosen upon enactment of this rule if we are all at least Red clearance, and thusly not subject to this rule? Similarly, what happens if we need more commies later in the game and everyone is above infrared?
