Proposal: I Want Out

Timed out. Failed by Clucky

Adminned at 23 May 2009 13:37:00 UTC

Add to the Rule called “In or out?” a new subrule entitled “Claustrophobia”.  Give the subrule the following text:

An Insider may set himself to Out at any time.  This action is called Resigning.  A Contestant who has Resigned in the last 24 hours cannot become an Insider.

SCAM ALERT!!!!!

If enough people resign at the same time, it would cause a revolution (which right now has no chance of failing).  That revolution would then cause all Insiders to become Outsiders while the Outsiders cannot become Insiders, thus leaving all non-Host contestants as outsiders.

Who cares? It doesn’t matter if you’re in or out right now.

We’d only be locked out for 24 hours, then we’d all become Insiders again.

@Yoda: A scam that requires a quorum of players to cooperate isn’t really a scam, because they could just do anything they liked via CFJ.

Yoda: So long as nobody was Inside, revolutions would continuously and automagically trigger. As soon as 24 hours had passed and the “Resigned” effect had expired, a revolution could finally resolve, and everyone would be moved back Inside.

against per Kevan’s original comment; I don’t think there’s anything necessarily wrong with this, but having to get voted out some other way is likely to be more interesting.

Well, technically the original insiders would be stuck in an infinite loop of going inside and outside until the 24 hours after enough resignations such that the 2:1 condition no longer holds, at which point all the original insiders plus the first few resignees would become in while the rest are still stuck outside.

I guess the point is kinda moot now anyways…
