I’d do these if I could

I think there should be forms we can fill that automatically adjust the templates. So we can change the colour scheme without searching through pages and pages.
There should also be one for the emperor, so that Sparrowscript and BNbot can just check a certain location and see who the emperor is, without needing to be updated.
It would also be cool if proposals could be autofailed (enacting would be too difficult) if they could be.

I’m not saying that people should go do these, but if you’ve got nothing to do, why not give them a try?

Many of these would require editing the PHP of ExpressionEngine. I can probably fiddle Sparrowscript (alethioscript?) to do some of them (emperor tracking, _maybe_ proposal auto-fail).

Yes, as I said, I have no idea how easy these would be. I’m just throwing them out there.

We could make it easier to update the colour scheme by having a comment section at the top of the CSS file somewhere that listed the “important” colours along with their current hex code (I know some are repeated a few times), so that you could just search-and-replace that hex code across the entire CSS when you’re changing the colour scheme.

Kevan: that works until someone makes two of them the same.  It’s a pity something like C macros don’t work in CSS.

Easy enough to put a “don’t make two the same” warning, though, and to have one of them off by one. (And to change things in a different order, or with placeholders, in the rare case where you want to change one colour to become what another is currently.)

No auto-fails. Emperor should be an easy enough value to add in. I also say automatic quorum/players active will be easier and probably more useful that the colours, but these sound like good ideas.

The Emperor’s name (or, at least, the name of the dynasty) can be taken from the rollover text of the title image.

Also useful: a thing that automatically puts up a flag (or colours the name red) of any player who should be idle.
