Proposal: I’m so weak

Self-kiled -Darth

If the proposal “Abundants” is failed this proposal does nothing.
In the rule “Food” create a subrule “Hunger”:

Each Ant or Creature is either “well fed” or “hungry”. This is tracked in the GNDT under the column entitled “Hunger”. New Ants start “well fed”. If an ant has had exactly zero food for 24 hours, it is considred “hungry”. Respectively after each 24 hours in which an ant has been “hungry” all the time, reduce the health of this ant by 3. An ant can consume 2 food to become “well fed”

All ants are now “well fed”.

The penalty is high as each ant can possibly regenerate.

I suppose it’s necessary.

imperial .  I’d rather have food and health be separate ways to die, but I’ll defer to Clucky on this one.

against tedious. Who keeps track of this information? Unless you also stored a “last ate at” datetime in the gndt it would be exceedingly boring to search back through the log for everyone’s last eating date in order to update them, and since it’s per ant you can’t batch process them.

This would also be a pretty harsh penalty for not checking blognomic more than once every 24 hours, since you have to spend twice as much food to stop being hungry as you do to prevent becoming hungry, but there is currently no way of consuming food AFAICT from the current ruleset, except for as defined in this rule. So it’s even worse - every 24 to 48 hours you have to reduce your food by two to prevent your health decreasing by three.

AND since there’s no way in the ruleset for us to perform the queens actions, she would starve to death in less than a week (although, somewhat humourously, there is currently no penalty for this)

I still think it’s manageable, since it’s per ant - and presumably, most ants aren’t going to let themselves die.

Also, I don’t understand your “grinding” argument. I don’t see anything that makes it that we have to check the blog every day: if you have more than one food, then you’re ok. You don’t have to eat every day, you just have to watch out so that you don’t have empty reserves. Since you can do that whenever you want - at intervals of 3-4 days, even - how is that grinding?

For that reason, the Queen wouldn’t starve as she doesn’t even use up the food she has.

I thus repeat my FOR vote. =P

against Presumably the task of keeping track of all this is going to fall on the admins, and I’m not looking forward to trudging through the gndt log checking when everyone last ate.

against For the bit where magic pixies automatically update the GNDT (these kind of rules are usually better as “if an Ant has had zero food for 24 hours, any Ant may set that Ant’s Hunger to ‘Hungry’”).

But it does seem a bit redundant to be tracking both “food” and “hunger”; this mechanic wouldn’t be too different if it was just “if an Ant has zero food, any player may knock three Health off it, maximum once per day”.

against s/k I see the problem with the work load. I’m going to re propose with a simpler rule.
