Enact a new rule, “Floors”:-
Earthlink Tower has a number of Floors: 64 above ground (numbered 1 through 64 in sequence) and 8 below ground (numbered B1 through B8 in sequence). The top floor of the Tower is Floor 64, and the bottom is Floor B8, with Floor 1 being directly above Floor B1.
Each Citizen is on a Floor of Earthlink Tower, defaulting to Floor 1. A Citizen’s Floor is publicly tracked.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen a lift. Counting from 1 is a US thing, isn’t it? The last dynasty’s census had an American flavour to the names, so I was intending to carry that forward. “B” is “Basement”, here.
Two later proposals are already operating on these assumptions, but feel free to propose a renumbering if you feel strongly about it.
the B is fine, but id really like to count normally here. -1 comes before 0, which comes before 1.
I unidled last night - quorum rose to 7 at the time, though it is now 8.
I don’t mind the naming system, I think it’ll be easy enough to adjust to anything.
BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.

why not have the basement floors named -8 to -1 (negative 8 to negative 1)
but “Floor 1 being directly above Floor B1.” is annoying, consider having ground floor be floor 0 and have B1 below 0 and 1 above 0
