Enact a new rule, “Fighting”:-

A single Realtor may be Up: their identity, if they exist, is publicly tracked.

A Fight Die is a six-sided die with sides of {Punch,Kick,Grapple,Leap,Taunt,Miss}.

The Realtor who is Up may performing the following atomic action, known as Fighting:

* Posting a comment in the Die Roller naming a single Opponent, being a Realtor that they do not share a Team with
* Rolling five Fight Dice in the Die Roller
* Posting a comment in the Die Roller stating which of the previous step’s die results (if any) they wish to keep: results of “Miss” ‘‘must’’ be kept
* Rolling X Fight Dice in the Die Roller, where X is equal to 5 minus the number of results kept in the previous step
* Posting a comment in the Die Roller stating which of the previous step’s die results (if any) they wish to keep: results of “Miss” ‘‘must’’ be kept
* Rolling X Fight Dice in the Die Roller, where X is equal to 5 minus the number of results kept in all previous steps
* Keeping all die results (if any were rolled) from the previous step
* If they kept three Punches, three Kicks or three Grapples, gaining 1 Contribution
* If they kept three Leaps and either a Kick, Punch or Grapple, gaining 3 Contribution
* If they kept three Leaps and no Kick, Punch or Grapple, losing 3 Contribution (to a minimum of zero)
* Ceasing to be the Realtor who is Up, then making their Opponent the Realtor who is Up

If a step of the above action requires a Realtor to roll zero dice, they may skip it. Within a Fight action, references to kept dice refer only to dice kept within that action.

Make either Brendan or TyGuy6 the Realtor who is Up, selecting at random.

Bare bones of a King of Tokyo / Yahtzee combat system.

Welcome back, Kevan!

Can someone write an example of what you’d enter into the Die Roller to roll 5 Fight Dice?

Also, I see a potential problem with reusing the word “active” here. Isn’t a non-idle realtor called an active realtor in a couple of core/appendix rules?

The five-die roll would just be “{Punch,Kick,Grapple,Leap,Taunt,Miss} {Punch,Kick,Grapple,Leap,Taunt,Miss} {Punch,Kick,Grapple,Leap,Taunt,Miss} {Punch,Kick,Grapple,Leap,Taunt,Miss} {Punch,Kick,Grapple,Leap,Taunt,Miss}”

Looks like “Active” is mentioned a couple of times, although not actually defined, but sure, I’ll change it to “Up”.

AA check: Looks reasonable and fun. 6 Dice roller steps, or 3 since you can combine the nonroll comments with the rolls. Then 1 final step to deterministically update 2 pieces of gamestate.

Barring someone else seeing something I give it my green tick

results of “Miss” ‘‘must’’ be kept—I presume the punctuation around must is intended to be a double-straight-apostrophe, but it looks like some point in the text chain has converted those to curly apostrophes, and if this is copy-and-pasted as is into the Ruleset those words will not be italicized. Manageable through the typo rule, but worth noting.

Ah, that’s ExpressionEngine converting all apostrophes and quotemarks, I’d forgotten about that. If it’s copied from the edit view it’s fine, if it’s copied from the blog view it’s not.

Actually, what happens if you get none of the outcomes described in the rule?

Your Contribution just stays the same.
