Add to “Prestige” a subrule called “Group Politics”:

A Pathfinder can Revolt against a Leader by paying 3 Stamina and lowering the Prestige of that Leader by 2.
A Pathfinder can Protest against a Second-in-Command by paying 2 Stamina and lowering the Prestige of that Second-in-Command by 1.

A Pathfinder at the Cortex Desert can make a Great Speech by paying 3 Stamina and making a blog post to this effect. A Pathfinder cannot Revolt or Protest against a Pathfinder that has made a Great Speech during the previous day (between the last two Sunrises).

Do we have a Leader at the moment

Yes. “If one Pathfinder has the most Prestige then they are the Leader. If there is a Leader and one Pathfinder has the the second-most Prestige then that Pathfinder is the Second in Command.”

Cuddlebeam, do you intend to try and actually win, or to extort a chance of victory from someone?

Derrick, we obviously can’t out-race you in Prestige. You should know how it goes - either the rules change, or people Pool (I very often Pool regardless though lol).

We could just call it a day, the rules are set in stone and call you the winner, but that would be boring. So, given the chance to nomic, I will.

against I’ll change my vote in exchange for some of the win equity you get, Cuddlebeam, etc. etc. etc. Let’s all play nomic I guess

Oh, I’d love to have a fair race. I have no objection to catchup mechanics, flavourful changes to the victory Condition or scoring, or even resetting prestige right now.

This propsal isn’t really a catchup mechanism, it’s not really good for catching up with an individual. More than that, it really doesn’t interact with the exploration theme of the game. It has nothing to do with discoveries,  crafting, applying, or linking. The only people who have to interact with the map are those who already are, the people doing things.

The mechanism looks a bit like grinding, just logging in and taking a simple action for gain.

I think the real Problem is that victory right now is in points per round.

against Unclear if you should pay 2 or 3 stamina when protesting the second in command.  One line says 2 stamina, following line says 3.

@Tofuna one line refers to Leader, the other Second-in-Command.
