Proposal: Let It Go

Passes 6-1 with 5 abstentions. Enacted by Brendan.

Adminned at 07 Mar 2015 05:39:27 UTC

Add a new subrule called “Winter” to the rule “Seasonal Changes,” with the following text:

This rule has no effect unless the current Season is Winter.

If the Weather Condition in effect is Typical, and it is not Saturday or Sunday, and they have not yet made a Sacrifice in the current Season, and they have at least two Things in their Home, a Townsperson may make a Sacrifice by removing one Animal from their Home. They may then comment to this effect on a pending Proposal that they created, which has been open for more than 24 hours. This Proposal becomes Favored.

If the Weather Condition in effect is Disastrous, and it is not Saturday or Sunday, and they have not yet made a Sacrifice in the current Season, a Townsperson may make a Sacrifice by removing one Human from their Home and gaining one Plague. They may then comment to this effect on a pending Proposal that they created, which has been open for more than 24 hours. This Proposal becomes Favored.

A Favored Proposal may be enacted if it has a number of FOR Votes that exceed or equal Quorum, has been open for voting for at least 24 hours, and has not been Vetoed or Self-Killed. This supersedes the provisions set out in the rule “Pace.”

More death.

against This “Rule” has no effect appears to refer to the Rule Seasonal Changes.

From the Glossary: “A subrule is a type of rule.”

imperial I like Sacrifices. I’m unsure about the impact on rushing through proposals. It’s thematically murky, for a start, but also it feels like the first stage in a scam.

Just to make sure I don’t misunderstand this:

Does this imply that you cannot make a sacrifice if you have no Animal: “... make a Sacrifice by removing one Animal from their Home…”

Otherwise once you got at least two Things, you could make unlimited sacrifices….

mideg, that’s correct. You can’t remove something you don’t have. (I’ve attempted it in victory scams before and failed.)
