Proposal: Lets Sell Some Bonds

Change the description of the Bank in the rule “Institutions” to read:

The Bank: When a player influences the Bank, they receive 1 credit for every credit they Directed at the Bank during that Cycle.

As has been pointed out, the Bank wreaks some havoc on the “one per each directed at” income system. This aims to cut inflation and balance the institution.

Doesn’t this mean that the Bank has no effect on anyone’s Credits? (The winner pays X Credits for winning the bid, then gets X Credits back as a reward, while everyone else just gets to keep their bid.)

In fact, everyone else gets to keep their bid and gets a +1 Credit bonus for having made a failed bid.

Oops, was suppose dto say 2 credts.  against Now that I think about it, is 2 the right number? maybe 2.5/3?

The problem with this is, there’s no reason not to dump all your credits into it, making it a multiplier rather than a fixed value modifier. “Double your credits” is a different proposition from “add 6 to your credits,” and will actually increase inflation, not decrease it.

@Josh, good point, this does advantage the richest person. Though remember, getting credits isn’t the goal of the game ;)

against This is broken per Kevan, and also while I am open to tweaking I would really like the bank’s mechanic to remain “those who don’t influence it benefit from investing, while the player who influences it benefits from everyone else investing”.

However, an exponentially increasing credit supply is probably good enough to take over everything else.
