In “The Crown Match” replace

When the second Player to reach 30 or more Magistrelli does so, the Dealer will immediately set every Player’s Readiness to “No”, and then set the Readiness of the first and second Players to reach 30 or more Magistrelli to “Yes”.

If two or more Players each have a Magistrelli score of at least 30, Players may no longer change their own Readiness, the first and second Players who reached 30 or more Magistrelli are the Contenders, and all other players are Spectators and may not become Contenders. The Contenders may not participate in Games other than the Crown Match. Spectators may at any time spend six of their own pegs to give a Contender a single peg as long as neither the Spectator nor the Contender is in an Active Game.

Cleaning up the wording a bit. Let contenders still play out their old matches, otherwise they would just have to time out and everyone could bet on their opponent and get free pegs. Allow people to give pegs to contenders even if the contender is still in a match, so there you’re not stuck trying to hit the perfect window. Make it clear that the Dealer can’t start a non-crown match between the contenders. Prevent any sort of “idle while readiness is yes, then come back and your readiness is still yes so you can still play games” shenanigans.

The ole subordinate clauses scam, eh

(As in: the second sentence in that paragraph needs to be dependent on the first.)

is it really a scam? Like sure we should clarify that that only happens once the game enters finale, but its not like anyone benefits from trying to claim that clause always applies.

for I don’t buy Josh’s complaint. A plain reading would attach the second sentence to the first

I think we could trivially find a hundred examples from BlogNomic’s recent past to suggest that that is not consistently the case.

sure but normally there is a point to those scams. here there is none and if for some reason Kevan does it anyways before you can get a fix through stopping him from doing so, a CfJ can fix it.
