Proposal: loophole…

Add a subrule to the rule entitled “Death”, call it “You died while you were gone.” give it the text

If an @ stops being idle, and would normally have their deaths set to 0, set their deaths to 1.

Someone who idled early could pop in at the last second and get the elimination victory. Unlikely, but better safe.

I would like to propose, perhaps controversially, that this doesn’t work for a very interesting reason.

An @ never “stops being Idle” except for the purposes of Rules 1.1, 1.2, 1.8 and 1.10. This is because of Rule 1.2 specifically saying that Idle @‘s are not considered @‘s. Thus, an @ doesn’t “stop being idle” so much as e “pops into existence” from a state that is undefined for the purpose of this rule.

On the other hand, I agree that this rule should be created, under some different wording.

To clarify, Idle @‘s cannot do ANYTHING for the purpose of any dynastic rule… including stopping being Idle. Only after they become @‘s again via rule 1.2 can they interact with the dynastic rules. At no point does an @ “stop being Idle” as far as this rule would be concerned.

I see, should be:

Immediately after an @ stops being idle, if their deaths is 0, set their deaths to 1.

s/k with the hope that someone will re-propose, since I have no slots.

Gah, sorry, should be:

Immediately after an @ is added to the GNDT, if their deaths is 0, set their deaths to 1.
