Proposal: Magical Monstrousities

Add to the list of Qualities:

- Merging (1)
- Mechanical (2)
- Mutant (3)

Amend, if it exists:

a Wizard is Unnatural if they have a Creature in their Stable with more than three Qualities, or which is Spectral.

to:

a Wizard is Unnatural if they have a Creature in their Stable with more than three Qualities, has a Miraculous Quality, or which is Spectral.

Add to Creature:

Mechanical, Mutant and Merging are Miraculous Qualities. A Mechanical Creature cannot be selected as Stock. A Mutant Creature can be selected as Stock by the Wizard that owns that creature, bypassing the normal restriction for Stock selection. A Merging Creature adds its Strength value to the Strength of the creature slot listed above itself in a Battle, and for the purpose of calculating its win or the opposing win against an opposing creature during a Battle, it has 0 Strength.

Piss off the Druid for strong Qualities.

against CoV while Monster Mash is looking to fail, since that would leave the Druid behaving unpredictably and remove a downside of the Miraculous Qualities.

I believe it’s heavily implied enough that the Druid would dislike them that it would trigger this anyways.

“The King should consider The Druid’s flavour whenever performing actions on behalf of The Druid.”

My argument isn’t purely mechanical/formal though but neither was the Druid from the start.

Derrick has said they’d be choosing to “target wizards who deserve a kick in the pants”, whatever that means. There’s no flavour in the ruleset to say whether the Druid would like or dislike Miraculous Creatures. Would the Druid consider a Mechanical Horse to “be particularly unnatural” compared to a Giant Mouse? Is a Mutant Fly more or less natural than a Fire-Breathing Cow? We don’t know.
