Proposal: Marks’ Residue

Reached quorum 7 votes to 0. Enacted by Kevan.

Adminned at 13 Feb 2015 09:39:45 UTC

Add a new subroutine to the list in “Subroutines”:

X0UT - Threshold: 99 OI.  The Ship’s Computer announces the Subject and may process an additional Subroutine today.

In the rule “The Airlock”, replace

The Ship’s Computer removes all M4RK subroutines from the subroutine queue

with

The Ship’s Computer changes all M4RK subroutines in the subroutine queue to X0UT subroutines

So can we go over what this does, exactly?

M4RKs, as currently implemented, disappear from the queue without being processed.  Depending on timings, they can avoid most of the current ways of getting information about subroutines (such as not showing up on the blog).

This proposal would mean that we can tell how many M4RKs are taking effect by counting the X0UTs as they are processed, without slowing down the subroutine queue.
