Add the following text to the rule “Form Sheet”:
The Bookie may optionally choose a Sporting Event to have Odds, which is expressed in the form “X-to-Y”, where X and Y are integers greater than 0, and which should be listed next to each Potential Outcome. If Odds are used in a Sporting Event, they must be applied to all Potential Outcomes. The values of X and Y for each Odds should be chosen by the Bookie by whatever means they deem to be appropriate for the Sporting Event.
In the subrule “Betting”, after the text “For each Bet’s whose Outcome occured, increase the Readies of the betting Punter by the amount of the Stake.” add this text:
If there were Odds associated with the Outcome that occured, instead increase the Readies of the betting Punter by the amount of the Stake multiplied by X and divided by Y, where X and Y are the values from those Odds.
Introducing the idea of Odds to make it more interesting when choosing to Bet on one Potential Participant over another. I didn’t want to get into how to determine the Odds just yet, but we will probably want the Odds to be related to the actual chances of a particular Outcome if those chances are varied per Potential Participant. It requires the concept that some Potential Participants are “better” at a Sport than others and would have better win chances.
