Member Group

I just noticed that my member group is set to “BlogNomic Idle” instead of “BlogNomic Member”. Does it make any difference? The only other user in there is Call for Judgment.

It doesn’t matter for now. Eventually we’ll be deriving the player list from the user group, but for now it’s pretty useless.

I wanted to use a custom profile field for idleness instead of a member group. Unfortunately, those would be editable by any member at any time, and could lead to abuse.

What is BlogNomic?

BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.

The game has been running since 2003 and resets every month or so. Have a look around the wiki for more information and history. New players are always welcome and can join in the game at any time.
