Call for Judgment: Metadynasties are horrible

Fails 1-6. - Qwazukee

Adminned at 26 Jul 2009 16:18:14 UTC

Darth Cliche has achieved victory.

This CFJ is legal for the same reason as ais’s.

I should win because I have been attempting to win since I first joined, six months ago. I should win because yuri was originally going to pass the mantle to me. I should win because this dynasty is coming to an end anyway, and metadynasties are horrible. I should win because I have not one, not two, but three ideas for a dynasty:

1. Solitaire Nomic Dynasty. All rules except 2.1 are called “ordinances”. 2.1 defines how you can edit ordinances in ways other than proposal, and also gives the victory condition: if there are no ordinances, the last player who edited an ordinance has achieved victory.
2. Biblical Dynasty. My title is Lord, and the players are Scripturewriters. The Scripturewriters must write about recent game events in a form that makes it sound like the Bible.
3. Calvin & Hobbes Dynasty. Self-explanatory, I think, but for those who haven’t heard of it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvin_and_Hobbes - we’ll have rules for calvinball at the very least.

I’ll let you vote among these three ideas.

“Achieving victory” just means that you become eligible to declare victory. You need to make a Declaration of Victory to start a new Dynasty and become its Emperor (that or make a very long-winded CfJ to say that the current Dynasty is over and a new one is starting and you are now Emperor and everything else).

Some players might disapprove of you impatiently hijacking the DoV system like this, though.

Kevan: It’s become customary to make a proposal or CfJ, so that you explicitly achieve victory, rather than using the DoV right away.

@DC: Customary for who? I think yuri winning was a mistake, and so would be making you win against

Furthermore, your three ideas suck.

Sorry, but you have not met any victory conditions.

I don’t have to. The only thing you need to truly achieve victory is to win a DoV.

I was talking to Darth. I meant to vote against as well.

against Incidentally, DoVs have been bypassed before in ways similar to this.

I like the Calvinball idea, DC.

1 vote for Calvin & Hobbes.

Any ideas of other things I should incorporate, other than calvinball?

against if anyone should be allowed to make a DoV its shem, since hes been the most active. I don’t like, and no offence to u, how you (or anyone for that matter) unidle just to try and steal the dynasty. I got bored of the dynasty awhile back while shem has been doing the weeklies.

Klisz:

Darknight: I wasn’t unidling to steal the dynasty - I had no plans to steal it when I unidled. It just happened that the dynasty descended into chaos soon after I unidled.

Shem:

against since you haven’t legitimately won (call me boring if you like).

Although Solitaire Nomic is intriguing.
