Proposal: Metaphor Police

Replace “Each Crewmember other than the Ship’s Computer has a level of Trust.” with:

All of the Human crew are sick of Jupiter patrol and want to be reassigned to Earth; the Android crew simply wish to commandeer the vessel. Each Crewmember other than the Ship’s Computer has a Clearance level.

Replace “Trust” with “Clearance” throughout the ruleset.

Replace “the Human with the lowest Clearance is Triumphant” with “the Human with the lowest Clearance is reassigned to Earth and is Triumphant”. Replace “the Android with the highest Clearance is Triumphant” with “the Android with the highest Clearance assumes command and is Triumphant”.

Crewmembers’ previous Trust levels (including those of Idle Crewmembers) become their Clearance levels.

Okay, I’ve killed my proposed repeal of Trust in favour of trying a better metaphor: that Jupiter patrol is a terrible job and the humans want to do badly enough to be reassigned from it, without actually dying in the process, while the Androids are trying to seize command of the ISV Jenny Haniver. This doesn’t make sense for all Trust-altering mechanics, but we can clean that up - I think it fits the basics.
