Proposal: [MIC] We need a leader!

Times out at 5-0 Oze

Adminned at 22 Dec 2008 11:31:40 UTC

If the Proposal titled “Good Leadership” failed, this Proposal does nothing.

Create a subrule of “The Party” - “Elections” with the text

WHEREAS a leaderless government is weak
WHEREAS weakness leads to strife

THEREFORE a Chairman must be Elected

Any time three or more citizens of MIC exist but no citizens hold the position of Chairman and no elections for the Chairman are currently in progress, any citizen of MIC may create a post with the title
“[MIC] [number] election for the Chairman of the People’s Republic of MIC” where [number] shall be replaced an ordinal number equal to the number of the previous election plus one. If no such elections exist, [number] shall be replaced by First.

Just realised that I forgot to detail exactly how elections work. Someone else will need to do that.

Hmm. I’m sorry I voted on it so quickly. I can’t do it because I already have 2 proposals pending.

Don’t worry about voting too quickly. The worst that could happen is an election post existing until rules are made so it can do something.

Elections don’t feel right.  I’m not sure what I’d prefer, and I won’t be to unhappy if this passes, but I’m just not certain that I like the idea of elections with thhis theme.

If everything went smoothly, there would only be one election, and after that, the Chairmanship would pass to the Chairman’s chosen successor or the next in alphabetical order.

The only reason there would ever be a second election is if MIC lost ALL its members then got three back which is fairly unlikely.

Oh, in that case
for
it makes complete sense.

in the future, end all of your “WHEREAS” Clauses with semi-colons :D.  If I enact it, I’ll just assume it was a typo and fix it ;).
