Call for Judgment: Miscounting Votes

Times out at 3-4.

I think that the votes for the proposal Calcite Milking Gloves were not counted correctly. In particular, the bit of rule 1.4 Voting which states “If a Captain casts more than one Vote on a Proposal, only the most recent of those Votes is counted.” seems to have been ignored.

By my count there were unique 11 votes For the proposal (counting Logan’s implicit For vote), and 0 votes Against (as Chivalrybean changed eir vote to For). Of these, 6 included the text “Milking is tough”, which would be a majority of the votes, correct? Therefore, the Horses rule should be amended as delineated in the proposal.

I admit that I missed Chivalrybean’s COV, but alethiophile’s “Milking is tough” vote did not count because the text was not included with a vote.

for Yarrr! I have to agree that there was a miscount.  Should be 11-0. About the amendment: I believe it comes down to whether alethiophile’s “milking is tough” should be counted since it was not in his official vote’s comment. I am in favor of counting it.

Also, the text of the proposal says, “If most votes for this
also say “Milking is tough!””, which means any and all votes, whether counted or not.  There were 13 of these votes even though only 11 counted as for votes.  So even if there were 6 “Milking is tough” votes, they would not make a majority.

against Alethiophile’s vote technically didn’t include ‘milking is tough’, even if he meant it to.

Another point to ponder: should it be considered that Logan’s implicit vote included the “Milking is tough”?

Furthermore, should we impose case-sensitivity on such conditional portions of proposals?

Question 1: Logan technically did not explicitly vote; therefore, he could not have included “Milking is tough” in his vote.

Question 2: I would not think that we would need to be THAT strict.

The count of votes was incorrect, but yes, technically there was only 5 votes for Milking is Tough.  against

for Technically, there is no reason to be that picky.
