Enact a New Rule, “My Life’s Calling”:-

Each Amnesiac has a Food statistic, tracked in the “Community” wiki page under the field “Food”, and defaulting to 0. As a weekly action, an Amnesiac may Attempt to Garden by Making a blog post to that effect. The Past Memory should make a single comment on each such post with a single number, x, uniformly pulled from one of the following lists of possible values:
{-2, -2, -2, -1, -1, -1, 0, 0, 1, 1, 2, 2} if the Amnesiac Attempting to Garden is not a Gardener

OR

{-2, -2, -1, -1, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2} otherwise. The Food statistic of the Amnesiac Attempting to Garden increases by x.

As a weekly action, an Amnesiac may Attempt to Steal by Making a blog post to that effect, and naming one other Amnesiac. The Past Memory should make a single comment on each such post with a single number, x, uniformly pulled from one of the following lists of possible values:

{-2, -2, -2, -1, -1, -1, 0, 0, 1, 1, 2, 2} if the Amnesiac Attempting to Steal is not a Burglar.

OR

{-2, -2, -1, -1, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2} otherwise. The Food statistic of the Amnesiac Attempting to Steal increases by x. The Food statistic of the named Amnesiac decreases by x.

Putting some pressure on us to interact with each other based on our roles. Kind of a trial by fire situation, where you can try to do something and see if you’re good at it in order to backsolve and hypothesize what you might have been in a past life.

Frick this is supposed to say randomly pulled, isn’t it? Oh, well, let me know all the other issues so I can fix them in one go, also we can still discuss what we think of the concept here

I think it would be better if this was made into a generalized table, like we did with last dynasty and Tasks to cut down on repeated prose.

imperial Imperial vote as it’s Imperial work responding to all of these. Weekly actions might be a bit sparse.

against Just because “uniformly pulled” doesn’t necessarily mean the same as “randomly selected”.

As an aside: ayesdeeef, the ruleset allows for proposers to amend their proposals up to two hours after it’s posted, so long as it hasn’t been voted on, so at the time of your comment saying that you’d noticed this issue, you could still have amended it to correct it. Just fyi!

against  As I’m trying to limit my interaction with the Dynasty to tracking/handing out information about Roles. (Else it will come to a standstill if I forget to log on at some point.) Very interesting take, though.

I’m curious how you see this dynasty playing out then.

If we want roles to be able to have certain powers / allow certain actions. But as people don’t know their role you can’t just be like “The Mayor may do…” because no one knows if they are the mayor or not.

So instead, you need to run your actions through someone who knows has enough information to determine if you can do it or not, i.e. the past memory.

Or roles don’t allow certain actions

My initial idea was to take a cue from Coup and allowing players to take actions under the guise of a certain role (which need not be their true role) to work toward their Victory condition, based on their true role, which may be different from what others are working toward. That would have been more clear had I posted my second seeding proposal, which is taking far too long to get working properly.

The idea with this is basically to be another way for you to hand out information about roles, just like mementoes or recognition. What exactly is the difference here, just so I understand when making future proposals?

Secret actions wouldn’t need to go through the Past Memory at the time they were performed, they could also just be verified once at the end of the game, as in the Versailles victory mechanic. If you were the Mayor but somebody points out that you took a criminal action on day 8, your DoV claim gets invalidated (or its score reduced, or whatever the penalty is).
