Proposal: Nobody makes money on theatre releases any more

Adminned at 27 Mar 2009 10:51:34 UTC

The Producer is aware that all of the real money is made on DVD sales, and for that reason he has lined up some tasty bonus features, most of which no-one will ever watch.

Add a new rule, entitled Bonus Material:

The Producer may occasionally make a request for a bonus feature to be produced. He does this by making a post with a title that takes the format “BONUS: x”, where x is the type of bonus feature that he wants to see made, drawn from the list in this rule. The Producer may request each bonus feature no more often than once per Act.

This request is valid for 48 hours after the time of posting. In this time, each Scripter may produce and submit no more than one valid attempt at satisfying the Producer’s request, which is to be either posted or linked to in a comment to the original post. At the end of this 48 hour period, the Producer may judge one of the attempts to have been the most satisfying. The Scripter responsible for this attempt gains 2 points of popularity, and the winning attempt is archived on a wiki page entitled “Bonus Features”. If the producer decides that none of the attempts were satisfying, or if no attempts were submitted, then all active Scripters lose 0.5 popularity points.

Types of bonus feature:
Gag reel: The Scripter may chose any scene from the current unfinished act. If there is no current unfinished act, they may chose any scene from any act. They must then re-write the act, in no more than 100 words, detailing a take that was unusable for amusing reasons.
Making Of documentary: The Scripter may chose any scene from the current unfinished act. If there is no current unfinished act, they may chose any scene from any act. They must then draw the scene (using MS Paint or an equivalent program). This drawing should show a moment of action and should include at least one fatality.
Cast interviews: The Scripter may chose any stunt-casted actor from the current unfinished act. If there is no current unfinished act, they may chose any stunt-casted actor from any act. They must then right a short dialogue between that actor and an interviewer (no more than 8 lines each) talking about something utterly unrelated to the project.

Clear the wiki page “Bonus Features” if necessary.

imperial The wiki page clearing is badly worded.  After all, it is never truly necessary to clear the page unless a proposal says it must be cleared.

Rodlen: But it’s not entirely necessary to either because it does not affect gamestate.

Yoda: ...Huh?  I was just saying that the proposal would not clear the wiki page.

for Surely as long as the admin thinks it is necessary, it will be done.

imperial I think it’s over complicated but if the rest of you think it’s good I’ll go along.

Devenger: It was established, in a recent dynasty, that the thoughts of an admin don’t have sudden greater legal power than normal.

To be exact, it was established in my first dynasty, as the action that caused the addition of the base ten glossary note.

I think a lot of it could be reworded,
‘The Scripter may chose any scene from the current unfinished act.’
‘They must then re-write the act, in no more than 100 words’
Firstly there is nothing saying there won’t be two unfinished acts at any one time (indeed Act 3 was opened before Act 2 closed) and I think in the second part, act is meant to be ‘scene’ else there is no point in choosing a scene to start with…
Other than that sort of thing, I think this is a good idea imperial

Also how do we post drawings?

for The wiki page is only an archive, anyway, it’s not triggering anything.

for I want to be against it but I keep missing scene writing due to work.
