Not a Call for Judgment

But it could be one.  A minute before the lawsuit against Chronos concluded, they summoned Astaroth in order to get the two AGAINST votes on their side.  However, the wording of Astaroth states that it affects “any Lawsuit filed against a Corporation that employs Astaroth.”  Chronos didn’t employ Astaroth when the suit was filed against them, only when it concluded.

I’ve made the GNDT changes for now as if Chronos is right, but please comment with regard to which way you lean on this interpretation—depending on the general opinion, I may change it and see if it goes to CfJ.  Voters for my side:  that means “say yes if you want another $116M.”  Also, please let me know in the comments which Naming Rights you want as the rest of your payment, and feel free to pick up your Escrows.

For the registry, you miscalculated the amount of money I’d lost. I’ve made the changes, presuming you’d keep your bona fide when distributing $600M (instead of the $300M you took from me).

As for your question (“ny Lawsuit filed against a Corporation that employs Astaroth”)

Your lawsuit was one filed against me, and I was a employer of Astaroth when it finished. So, where is the problem?

I foresaw the summoning of Astaroth, and think it’s perfectly valid as a way to get the two against votes.  It only checks whether Astaroth is employed at time of calculating wins and losses.

I consider “filed against a Corporation that employs Astaroth” to be an adjectival phrase (modifying “lawsuit”).  In particular, “filed” is being used as an adjective, not as a verb.  The verb interpretation would set up a 48-hour delayed trigger at time of filing, but only if the defendant already had Astaroth.  This would be really awkward, I think.  Though it hurts me financially, I think Chronos’s simpler interpretation should prevail.

Although I doubt I’ll be summoning him any time soon, I’d most like the naming rights to Ifrit, if you please.

“any Lawsuit filed against a Corporation that employs Astaroth.” -  I my opinion, a lawsuit is a continuous event, and since Chronos summoned it while the lawsuit was still undecided, I would agree with Chronos.

I’d most like the naming rights to Ziz, if you please.

I’d also go for adjective rather than verb, particularly as the rule goes on to say “when calculating its wins and losses”.

And I’ll take Ziz, please.

To enter (a legal document) on public official record.
But, the argument about when Astaroth is actually used (calculating votes) is a valid argument as well… but I was swaying a bit towards Astaroth needing employed at the beginning.

I guess I’ll take Ziz.

Are we handing out naming rights as a result of the lawsuit?  If so, I’d like Morgroth, please.  :)

Did you not notice that clause of the bribe?  I should have just kept my mouth shut.  Rights granted.
