Rewrite the list item that begins with “Paranoia - ” in the rule Motivations as follows:

  • Paranoia - Your primary goal is to avoid the rest of the group. A Castaway with this Motivation may not change their Location to a Location which contains another Castaway. As a Date Action, a Castaway who has this Motivation may deduct five SP from the total of another Castaway at their Location, and increase their own SP by five and their own HSR by one.

Seems like an easy way to swing into first place, and almost certain victory for anyone lucky enough to find Mac (who can steal SP from people who will likely struggle to reach Mac’s Cave to steal it back).

It’s also twice as powerful to *cough* the traitor, who can reset their HSR.

I am counting on the traitor’s vote, yes. But no one has found Mac, and anyone can take on the Paranoid motivation at any time. Making the current SP ranks less locked in is admittedly self-interested, but is it really more interesting to keep everyone in the same position for the rest of the race? Or should we be able to spend resources in any other way besides “roll Wood die, move around SP track?”
