Make a new rule in the Appendix above Keywords titled “Proposal Tags” with the following text

Voteable matters have at least one tag, if no tags are given the defaults are used. Proposals and CfJ default to [Dynastic], DoV default to [Victory] and [Gamestate] and other Voteable matters default to the [Story] and [Gamestate] tags. Tags are put in the title of the voteable matter with the format “[X]” where X is the tag. Voteable matters with tags in their titles are considered to have those tags.

Valid tags are:
*Victory
*Dynastic
*Gamestate
*Core
*Story

Proposals and CfJ can only make changes to Dynastic rules if they have the [Dynastic] tag.
Proposals and CfJ can only make changes to Core rules if they have the [Core] tag.
Voteable matters can only make changes to the Gamestate if they have the [Gamestate] tag.
Voteable matters with the [Gamestate] tag and not a [Dynastic] or [Core] tag cannot make changes to the ruleset.

Good idea Crumb.

This is a really good idea.

We can have a shorthand like [D], [C] or something too, eventually.

Yeah this would be a good way to do this easily. But can we even vote on anything now though? I have no clue…

I changed “Voteable can only make changes to the Gamestate if they have the [Gamestate] tag.”
to “Voteable matters can only make changes to the Gamestate if they have the [Gamestate] tag.”

Under the spelling correction provision, since “Voteable matters” itself is a two word phrase I think it should be covered.

We’re going to have a tough adjustment period as I’ve just discovered lol but ok for

Ah darn, next it should be changed to “Some but not a complete list of Valid tags are:” so that Dynastic rules can make other tags.

for CfJ and Proposal should probably default to [Gamestate] as well.

I’m going to sticky a cheat sheet/reminder (or someone else can, I’ll just do it if there’s none at the time I attempt to lol) once this is up.

A few reminders:
* Interfering with CfJs’ ability to modify the ruleset in any manner is inherently dangerous.
* The Ruleset is technically part of the Gamestate, so this would keep Proposals and CfJs from modifying the ruleset unless they’re explicitly tagged [Gamestate] and also have another tag.

Recommend veto and repropose to deal with these issues.

Also, I feel like this should be a subrule of Votable Matters rather than a glossary entry, but that’s minor in comparison.

Maybe CfJ don’t need tags.

No, the scope rule would apply here since it would be the Appendix contradicting itself. Since changes to the gamestate are more broad than changes to either core or dynastic rules the more narrower restrictions take precedence.

It’s an Appendix entry specifically because of https://wiki.blognomic.com/index.php?title=Ruleset#Prioritisation
