Add a new dynastic rule titled “Inventory” as follows:
There exist certain Items in the Manor. An Item may be present in a particular Location and be visible to all Guests or it may be hidden in some room in the Manor or it may be possessed by a Guest. A Guest can possess multiple Items but a particular Item can only be possessed by one Guest or be present in a Location. All Items that are visible to all Guests and present in a room in the Manor are tracked on the wiki page titled “ManorItems”. All Items that are hidden in the Manor have their locations tracked privately by the Executor. All Items that are possessed by a Guest and visible to all Guests are tracked in the GNDT column “Inventory”. All Items that are possessed by a Guest and are hidden from other Guests have their owners privately tracked by the Executor. Any Item can override any part of this Rule in the description of the Item.
Add a subrule to the rule “Inventory” titled “Picking Up Items”
If an Item is visible and tracked on the “ManorItems” wiki page and it can be possessed by a Guest, then any Guest in the same Location as that of the Item can Pick up the Item. They update the “ManorItems” to remove the Item from that page and update their “Inventory” column to indicate possession of the Item. If an Item is hidden in the Manor and the Lights are On then as a daily action a Guest may Search their current Location for a particular Item by sending a private message to the Executor. If the Item is in that particular room and the Guest is alone in that room, then the Executor will roll a DICE2. If it rolls 1 then the Guest will be granted possession of the Item. If the Guest is not alone in that room then the Executor rolls DICE4 and if it rolls 1 grants the Guest possession of that Item. The possession of this Item will not be tracked in GNDT but instead tracked privately by the Executor. The Executor must inform the Guest the results of the Search by private message only indicating whether they found the Item or not.
Add a subrule to the rule “Inventory” titled “Dropping Items”
If a Guest has possession of an Item they may relinquish the possession by simply Dropping it in their current Location. To Drop an Item they update the “ManorItems” wiki with the new location of the Item and remove it from their “Inventory” GNDT column if it is tracked there. Additionally if the Lights are Off a Guest may choose to Hide an Item they possess in the Manor. To Hide an Item they inform the Executor saying that they wish to Hide the item in a Location of their choosing and update the “Inventory” column in GNDT if the Item is tracked there. The hidden Item is no longer in the possession of the Guest even though they know the Location where it is hidden.
Add a subrule to the rule “Inventory” titled “Valid Items”
The following Items exist in the Manor:
- Torch: Turning the Lights Off has no effect on a Guest who possesses the Torch. i.e. all rules apply to the Guest as if the Lights were On. As soon as the Torch is picked by a Guest it is no longer hidden and is tracked in GNDT.
- Lantern: This has the same effect as the Torch.
- Candlestick: This has the same effect as the Torch.
- Vial of Poison: This is the poison used to murder Lord Cartlesham.
- Revolver: The Revolver is initially possessed by the Detective.
- Matchbox: Just a regular matchbox.
- Fountain Pen: Lord Cartlesham’s favorite pen.
- Piano: An antique owned by Lord Cartlesham. It cannot be possessed by a Guest.
- Safe: Contains the Will of Lord Cartlesham. It cannot be possessed by a Guest. The Safe can be Open or Closed. Any Item contained in the Safe cannot be possessed by a Guest unless the Safe is Open. The initial state of the Safe is Closed.
- Will: The Will of Lord Cartlesham. It is initially contained in the Safe.
Create a wiki page titled “ManorItems” which contains the text:
Piano : Parlor
Lantern: Basement
Safe: Library
Fountain Pen: Library
Will: Safe
When this proposal is enacted the Executor must choose Locations to hide the following items: Torch, Candlestick, Vial of Poison, Matchbox.
Adding more flavor to the Manor by adding Items that can be picked up by Guests and used in some way to create various events in the Manor.
