Personal Criteria

I would like to propose a new type of criteria, known as a ‘Personal Criteria’, which requires a Seeker to have an object which all other active Seekers voted upon in their image. The incentive for this would be that any Seeker who chooses to have a Personal Criteria gets a poinnt boost.

After ‘opinions or feelings of any Seeker.’ add

Personal Criteria

A Seeker may choose to have a Personal Criteria by making a blog post stating that they wish to do so. All other active Seekers then vote upon Personal Criteria by either stating an object, or by voting for with the name of the object or the player who proposed the object’s username. The object with the most for votes wins. Said object must be reasonably defined. This object becomes the Seeker’s Personal Criteria, which is publicly tracked. The Seeker must now include their Personal Criteria in every Snap they take, or they are ineligible for points on that Snap. If they do include their Personal Criteria, then they get three extra points.

Are you seeking commentary on something you might propose, or are you trying to post an actual Proposal?

If you’re trying to post an actual Proposal, there’s a few things to know:

1) You need to choose the Proposal category for the post. When you create a new post, there are tabs along the top part of the screen. One of those tabs is “Categories”. Check the checkbox for Proposal.

2) Think of a Proposal like a set of instructions. Every sentence needs to read like you’re telling someone to do something. Any commentary that you have should go into the “Commentary” section below the “Body” section when you’re using the form for making a new post.

3) The instructions mentioned above should be very specific. If you’re making changes to an existing rule, it’s best to name the rule first, such as “In the rule Scoring”, followed by the location where you want to add, replace, or remove text. If it’s a new rule, you should say what the name of the rule should be, such as “Add a new rule named Foo with the following text” followed by the text you wish to add. Using the blockquote tag around the actual text to add to a rule is helpful.

Unusual proposal formatting is okay so long as we agree on what it’s proposing to do to the ruleset. I think this one would just have added a false “Personal Criteria” heading to the Criteria rule, and some text below that, which isn’t so bad, and it could have been cleaned up with another proposal.

The Emperor also has the power to categorise proposals where the poster forgot to do so, although this is out of the six hour window for that now.

Afraid I don’t quite follow the intended process here. I make a blog post saying that I want a Personal Criteria object, and other players suggest and vote on what that object should be? What’s to stop them from picking something awkward or impossible, to prevent me from scoring my future Snaps?
