Call for Judgment: Play Dice, Not CfJs

Fewer than a quorum not voting AGAINST. Failed 0 votes to 5 by Kevan.

Uphold all rolls made in the Fourteenth Dynasty of Josh.

Those dice rolls also used the undefined CSV rolls, and DoVs resetting things don’t really work because DoVs were disabled.

past dynasties should stay in the past

arguing that you can uphold rolls in past dynasties also means that you can vote to *reverse* rolls in past dynasties. and that is a can of worms we don’t want to get into

Including the ones that were overturned as illegal?

This does get a bit hazy for unnecessarily upholding non-comma-list rolls, possibly including Brendan’s Merchant Circle stuff.

[Clucky] Past dynasties definitely should stay in the past, but per comments on Play Cards Not Dice, the previous dynasty was unique for switching off the regular “anyone can declare, players vote freely” DoV system.

Sure does feel like something unambiguous in Victory and Ascension would be helpful, huh.

Definitely. I’d vote for that, I just didn’t think that “the gamestate is upheld in full” satisfied the thorny requirements of the situation (and I wasn’t convinced by the unrelated rework of Player/Emperor terms that it was bundled with).

Sometimes it’s better to pass and fix than endlessly letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. See: imperatives rework. (Accept your point re the bundling of the terminology issue, although I still disagree on the merits)
