Proposal: Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with your new Dimensional Rift Container

Create sub-rule “Containment” under rule “Container Fields”:

Any DDA Member may, as a weekly action, create a story post with the text “[Contain]” at the beginning of it’s title. Such a story post shall include the name of a Planar Entity that needs to be contained ASAP, as well as the reasons for that action. Each DDA Member may then comment on that post and include any amount of FOR or AGAINST icons, as long as e doesn’t include more icons than the amount of energy e possess. For each icon included by emself, the DDA Member shall reduce er own energy by 1 then.

After 24 hours have passed, any DDA Member may declare the Container Field ready by making a comment with the text “Ready!” and including a tally of the count of FOR icons and AGAINST icons. If the number of AGAINST icons equals or exceeds the number of FOR icons, the Planar Entity stated in the story post becomes Contained for 5 days (120 hours).

Yes, right now, there is no definition for “Contained” yet, but perhaps somebody has an idea to contribute to it.

against I don’t get it.  Why would you vote FOR on a containment post?  Why would you include several voting icons?

...I like the general idea though.

imperial I think it’s a neat idea, and I really like the idea of spending energy to vote on in-game effects.

Yoda: If you ARE the Planar Entity stated in the post you may want to defend yourself.

Amnistar, I already voted.

Again, the DEF vote is merely a vote of no opinion, of confusion.  Players have been voting DEF after the commander has voted and on the commander’s proposals for as long as I can remember.  So can we please just get over it.  I would much rather players voted DEF than not at all because I see all to often that players will vote on some proposals because they feel strongly one way or the other while they don’t vote on others, perhaps because they have no opinion on the matter or they are too confused to be comfortable picking one side or the other.

I voted DEF because I like the idea but stand behind the opinion of the Commander on this issue.  You having already voted doesn’t change the fact that I have no strong desire to pass it as is.  However, if you were to change your mind and vote Yes, I would support that decision as well.

Nicely put, Amnistar.

veto I still remember the last time someone put a huge amount of voting icons on a page.  Too many icons, too much pain.
