I think part of the reason is that I tend to look for scams precisely because everyone seems bored; it often seems a pity to cut off an otherwise interesting dynasty with one. (For instance, I’d have let the Mornington Crescent dynasty continue if I’d won it on the first rather than second attempt, probably becoming Emperor myself but repealing only the broken rules that made it possible.)
