Slack
    The BlogNomic Slack is located at blognomic.slack.com. Sailors may request an invite to the Slack while logged in by clicking the button in the sidebar.
Slack Channel
    A Slack Channel is any channel on the BlogNomic Slack. To reference a Slack Channel, use a hash (#) followed by the name of that channel. (For example, #random.)

it got late while I was drafting this so I probably missed some things. I didn’t include IRC because we’re trying for something that has persistent chatlogs, which all of the mentioned services have. I also came across this which seems fitting for our current situation https://opensource.com/alternatives/slack and it looks like rocket.chat was made specifically to try and have an open source alternative to slack.

Yes, at least keep slack on the list. If nothing else its where the previous players expect it to be. I also strongly prefer slack’s personal messaging system, because it keeps server specific names in the private chat and allows non-admins to create exclusive channels and private messages aimed at groups, and discord does not.
