Also, I changed this to be a Proposal - when authoring a post, it only becomes a proposal if you go to the ‘Categories’ tab above the title field and check ‘Proposal’. Of course, this information will go stale as soon as we move to WordPress.

Its too late to fix because of pokes vote. But I’m not sure this does anything other than assert the fact that Zyborg proposes that Zyborg is under the mentorship of Josh

Normally a proposal text would just read something like “Zyborg is under the mentorship of Josh “

Wait pokes did you change it or did zyborg change it?

I don’t think its legal for you to change it

“Secondly, if a post by a New Gambler is not in any category but follows the wording of a Proposal, in that it has written changes the gamestate and or Ruleset, and if it has been posted for less than six hours, then any Admin may change it to be in the Proposal category.”

So I guess it depends on if “I propose that Zyborg is under the mentorship of Josh.” means “Zyborg is under the mentorship of Josh”

If it does, then pokes is in the legal to turn this into a proposal

if it doesn’t, then because it doesn’t have written changes to the gamestate or ruleset but rather just asserts something, then its not legal to turn it into a proposal

I changed the category.

I’m most used to reading proposals that are worded as instructions to the enacting admin: “Do this, and then do this”, which here would be something like “Make Josh the mentor of Zyborg”. If I were to admin this, I’d be fine including Josh becoming the mentor as a “specified effect” in the “updating the Ruleset and/or Gamestate to include the specified effects of that Proposal” phase of Enacting this Proposal.

It’s strange though that it’s untracked. Because it’s non-dynastic I suppose it’s fine that it’s something that’s orphan-y. But the enacting admin doesn’t do anything here either way.

We really should start tracking Mentors somewhere.

well if we’ve decided this is a valid change to make it a proposal, then it effects game state which means it will succeed in making Josh the mentor so for
