Amend rule “Kicking the Ball” by substituting for the text:

If the result is 2, ownership of the Ball is transferred to a Player of the same position as the target Player, chosen randomly using the GNDT. If the result is 3, the Ball becomes Out of Play and is removed from any Player’s possession.

the text:

If the result is 2 and there exists at least one Player with the same position as the target Player, ownership of the Ball is transferred to such a Player, chosen randomly using the GNDT amongst all Players with that position. Otherwise, the Ball becomes Out of Play and is removed from any Player’s possession.

Proposal proposal.

I don’t see the necessity imperial

Not sure this does anything. There will always be one player with the same position as any given player: the player themselves. This needs to say “one other player”.

for  Kevan: You can kick to someone in a different position. eg, you someone can kick to the goalkeeper, despite the fact that there is a maximum of one goalkeeper.

Also: Now that our Coach has idled, how do we do anything that requires a coach (like resolving deferrals)?

If you Kick to the Goalkeeper under the current rule, “ownership of the Ball is transferred to a Player of the same position as the target Player”, and that’s still the Goalkeeper. The Goalkeeper has the same position as his or herself.

Deferentials are uncounted abstentions in the absence of a Coach - it’s up to us whether we bring in a rule saying how to resolve them, or just refrain from using them.

Yeah, as far as I can tell, this is redundant.

against Self-kill; didn’t realize the target Player had the same position as themselves!
